Getting Around
Dulles International Airport
We highly recommend arriving at Dulles Internation Airport (IAD). It is the most convenient airport and only 8 minutes from the conference venue. Lansdowne Resort provides a complimentary shuttle bus to and from Dulles Internation Airport.
Other Airports
For those of you arriving via Reagan National Airport (DCA), Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI), MARC, Amtrack and Metro, we recommend taking the Orange Metro line toward Vienna and getting off at the West Falls Church Station. Take the Washington Flyer Coach Service to Dulles Airport ($10). Notify the hotel (703-729-8400) that you will be arriving at the airport and you'd the shuttle to pick you up. Reagan National Airport (DCA): After arriving at DCA, take the metro from National Airport and take the blue line to Rosslyn. Switch to the Orange line toward Vienna/Fairfax and get off at the West Falls Church Station. Take the Washington Flyer Coach Service to Dulles Airport ($10). Notify the hotel (703-729-8400) that you will be arriving at the airport and you'd like the shuttle to pick you up. Let them know you are with CFUnited.
Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI): After arriving at BWI, it will be quite a commute but there are several ways you can reach the conference venue.
Bus from BWI to Metro: Metro now offers BWI Express Metro bus service, a direction connection between BWI and the Greenbelt metro station. The BWI Express/B30 service runs every 40 minutes, 7 days a week to the Greenbelt Metro Station, which is located on the Green line of the Washington Metro System. Buses run 25 times each weekday and 21 times on Saturdays and Sundays. For more information, call 202-627-7000 or go to www.wmata.com. After reaching the Greenbelt Metro station, you will take the Green line to L'Enfant Plaza where you will switch to the Orange line to Vienna/Fairfax and get off at the West Falls Church Station. Take the Washington Flyer Coach Service to Dulles Airport ($10). Notify the hotel (703-729-8400) that you will be arriving at the airport and you'd like the shuttle to pick you up. Let them know you are with CFUnited. OR, avoid all the hassle, and take a cab from BWI to the Lansdowne Resort.
MARC train to Metro: Note that MARC trains only run on the weekdays. Take the Penn line towards Washington, trains leave every 30 minutes and will arrive in Union Station. At Union Station you will need to switch to the Union Station Metro on the Red line to Metro Center. From Metro Center switch to the Orange line towards Vienna/Fairfax and get off at the West Falls Church Station. Take the Washington Flyer Coach Service to Dulles Airport ($10). Notify the hotel (703-729-8400) that you will be arriving at the airport and you'd like the shuttle to pick you up. Let them know you are with CFUnited.
From Amtrak to Metro: When you arrive in Washington, DC at Union Station or New Carrollton in Maryland, you will need to take the Metro and get on the Orange line towards Vienna Metro Station and get off at the West Falls Church Station. Take the Washington Flyer Coach Service to Dulles Airport ($10). Notify the hotel (703-729-8400) that you will be arriving at the airport and you'd like the shuttle to pick you up. By Car
From Washington Dulles International Airport
- Leave the terminal on the airport road
- Take Exit 9B onto Rt. 28/Sully Road North
- Go 4 miles and exit onto Rt. 7 West toward Leesburg
- Travel 3.5 miles (after 4 Lights) on Rt. 7 West
- Exit right onto Lansdowne Boulevard
- Proceed through the traffic light
- Make a right onto Woodridge Pwky.
- Make your first left into the resort
From Capital Beltway (Rt. 495) - Option 1
- Take Dulles Toll Road/Rt. 267 West
- Proceed through main toll plaza for ~11 miles
- Take Exit 9B onto Rt. 28/Sully Road North
- Go 4 miles and exit onto Rt. 7 West toward Leesburg
- Travel 3.5 miles (after 4 Lights) on Rt. 7 West
- Exit right onto Lansdowne Boulevard
- Proceed through the traffic light
- Make a right onto Woodridge Pwky.
- Make your first left into the resort
From Capital Beltway (Rt. 495) - Option 2
- Take Dulles Toll Road/Rt. 267 West
- Proceed through main toll plaza
- Follow to Belmont Ridge Road/Exit 4
- Take Belmont Ridge Road North, to the right
- Travel 3 miles and turn right onto Route 7/Harry Byrd Highway
- Stay in the Right Lane and exit to Lansdowne Boulevard
- Take first right after the traffic light
- Take first left to Resort entrance
